Pinot Noir Tattendorf, Familie ReinischFragrant, freshly picked strawberries and ripe, juice emitting raspberries greet you when you put the Familie Reinisch Pinot Noir to the nose. Inviting and juicy with a smoky intrigue, the palate is just as fresh but the red berry character is joined by an earthy, mineral undertone that makes this equally as serious as it is playful. We cant believe how much wine you get for your buck here, the structure of this Austrian Pinot Noir stands up to many
Fragrant, freshly picked strawberries and ripe, juice-emitting raspberries greet you when you put the Familie Reinisch Pinot Noir to the nose. Inviting and juicy with a smoky intrigue, the palate is just as fresh but the red berry character is joined by an earthy, mineral undertone that makes this equally as serious as it is playful. We can’t believe how much wine you get for your buck here, the structure of this Austrian Pinot Noir stands up to many village Burgundy wines, for which you'd pay considerably higher prices.
Grown only in the best sites in their vineyards surrounding the village of Tattendorf, Familie Reinisch make what is quite possibly the juiciest, fruitiest, most balanced Pinot Noir for under £20 anywhere in Austria. The wine spends 12 months in large oak barrels after fermentation which helps soften the wine and adds some of the delicate woody spice notes we sense, particularly on the nose. The palate is fresh yet savoury, light yet concentrated, juicy yet smooth – a real treat. A cracking wine for game, this would pair perfectly with roast veal or pheasant, or something earthy like a porcini mushroom pasta would be a treat.
Familie Reinisch is a family run winery who work organically on 40 hectares of vineyards between Gumpoldskirchen and Tattendorf. The soils in this area are warmed by thermal spas running underground, allowing their grape varieties to thrive. They are ambassadors for Austria’s historic wine styles, and they cultivate a beautiful selection of whites and reds. Loved by sommeliers across the globe, seek their wines out for some expertly crafted wines at very fair prices!
